Founded in 2014, Manitou is a place that cares about music. Our services include development, publishing, distribution, public relations, booking, consulting & connecting, strategy, management, artist administration, grant writing and strategy building. Our long-established network is both domestically and internationally developed. Manitou takes care of what needs to get done.

Shannon Martin started her music industry career as a music music journalist and radio on-air jock. In 2001, she joined Battle Axe Records (PR, int’l sales, promo & marketing), then Boompa Records in 2003 (label manager, A&R, int’l sales, promotions, marketing, artist manager of Leeroy Stagger). In 2006, she founded File Under: Music and was the artist manager for Dan Mangan as well as VP for Music BC. In 2011, she joined Aporia Records, re-launched the label, A&R’d and expanded the roster to include The Grapes of Wrath, Foam Lake, Dustin Bentall, Eamon McGrath, Dearly Beloved, and Julie Doiron among others and was the artist manager for Donovan Woods. In 2014, she founded Manitou Entertainment, a music and short film production company representing several independent artists (Krief, The Dudes, Heart Beach, Raleigh, Ada Dahli, Before the Flood and more). Shannon also sits on the Board of Directors for Women In Music Canada, is an active CARAS member and also hosts house concerts.
